Research
I am a cultural anthropologist whose research explores the politics and ethics of conservation. I have conducted ethnographic fieldwork focused on ecosystem restoration efforts in the Florida Everglades, invasive species management in South America’s Fuegian Archipelago, urban forests in the United States, to my current research on extinction science in the United States. My research approach, which I have termed “landscape ethnography” combines experimental approaches to ethnographic writing with long-term collaborations with environmental scientists.Additional information about these projects is available through the links below.
