About Laura

I am a cultural anthropologist interested in the politics of environmental change and conservation.  My work contributes to theoretical discussions in political ecology, environmental anthropology, as well as post-humanist philosophy.  I have conducted ethnographic research in the Florida Everglades, with urban communities in the United States, and currently, am working on a long-term project in Tierra del Fuego, Chile.  My research in Tierra del Fuego explores the ways introduced species are remaking the landscape and the ethics of living and dying in a changing world.  I am on the faculty in the Department of Anthropology at Dartmouth College and am affiliated with Dartmouth's Program in Latin American, Latino and Caribbean Studies.
